Re: 200nl 6 max - My First Strategy Post
[ QUOTE ]
The trouble with check-raising the turn is that the Ace is a scare card for a lot of the button's hands and he might not cooperate. I'd just bet $60 and shove the river. I think your re-raise pre-flop is pretty loose. You may well be ahead of his raising range, but I'd guess you are behind his calling range and out of position for the rest of the hand in a bloated pot. [/ QUOTE ] I am not sure what we're ahead of anymore that calls our bets. AKhearts got there, AQ has us, if he had TT and called the flop he isn't calling the turn bet or c/r all-in. I'd check it, and prob fold to be honest. |

Reraise PF is basically standard if he's aggressive and you haven't been defending. I hate calling with these hands and folding seems awfully weak. I like a c/r all in on the turn because I think a lot of worse hands could bet that wouldn't call a shove. [/ QUOTE ] |

Is it good to 3bet this preflop when you are new to the table?

[/ QUOTE ] As in, they will bet whereas they wouldnt have called if we shoved straight out. The only way these worse hands put money in the pot is if we check and they bet. Shoving over their bet is just to make sure nothing silly happens for free on the river because we are committed at that point anyway. |
