Re: AQ hand 2nd hour of 109r
Against you, half-potting an ace high flop? No idea.
If I think he'll bet here very often, I'll check/push. Otherwise, wow, I dunno. We need him to have a hand whatever, so how do you play a draw here? Whatever is going to make him think that you're trying to push him off the pot. If you'd ever push here (ie: into this pot), push. |

Re: AQ hand 2nd hour of 109r
so i checked and he pushed. it sounds you guys think it's an easy call, yes?
edit: didn't realize people were still answering. but it seems pretty evenly split between check-push and bet-call turn, so i'll assume either line is fine unless someone wants to make a substanative argument for one or the other. |

Re: AQ hand 2nd hour of 109r
i actually like checking and allowing him to fire a bet with a pocket pair or to check behind and pick up a stupid flush on the river and allow us to extract a bit of value that we wouldn't get by betting the turn against his 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Re: AQ hand 2nd hour of 109r
I like check/call the turn, since we're almost a lock to be way ahead here. With the size of the pot what it is, he's going to have to commit his stack if he bets the turn, and if we bet for him, I think a lot of hands get away that would hang themselves if we check.
If he checks behind, I think an open push on the river would be pretty hot. |
