iirc trips > 2pair I will have to check the hand chart, I might be wrong... [/ QUOTE ] You're right (last I checked), but what 2 does he overlimp with here? What 2 does he call on the flop? What 2 does he not raise on the turn? Looking back at this hand fills me with regret. |

Re: 3/6: Reeks of a bluff, but can I find a call here?
Not everyone follows a hand chart with perfect precision. Im not entirely sure what he has, what specifics of it are, but at this level, it would be EXTREMELY RARE for a tag to bluff raise the river ai with a busted draw. Its *possible* he has AX and figures you guys are splitting, but even that play isnt so common.
I would just be like "oh, I guess he has trips or a full house, ez fold im not getting great odds to call". Its so simple. "He's raising that flop bet alllllllll day with a set or A2" Also, not everyone plays straightforward, street by street. Its not uncommon for ppl to make loose peels, misclicks, or delayed raises. |

Re: 3/6: Reeks of a bluff, but can I find a call here?
If it were only a missed FD I would consider a fold, but given the additional chance its an ace trying to get us off a split I just couldn't lay it down.
Oh plus I just realised he has to have like the last 2 eights, the last two 2s, one of each of the last 2 As and 2s, or a limped AA that didn't raise the flop. Too tired to out the combos but I don't think there's many. |

Re: 3/6: Reeks of a bluff, but can I find a call here?
You are approaching it backwards. You should see evidence that villain is capable of making that sort of play.... most players arent. I would never assume someone was until I observed it.
I'm kind of going by the simplest explanation for the hand. Villain overlimps preflop. His hand is junky or misclicked. Villain raises river allin. Villain thinks we have Ace-something. We are probably beat and our odds to call are poor. |

I think he is trying to get us off a split here. Pretty expensive to find out though. I think I call.

Re: 3/6: Reeks of a bluff, but can I find a call here?
i'd fold with the exact same rationale as db.
i do agree with req that as a hand reading excercise it seems unlikely he has the one combination of 88 or the one combination of 22 and failed to raise the flop or turn. but i still think it's so unlikely that he bluff raises that i just fold without a better read convincing me otherwise. |

Re: 3/6: Reeks of a bluff, but can I find a call here?
bet more on flop and less on turn = pot is just as big, but your hand is less defined.
