I think it depends on the nature of the foe. Could he have really reraised with such a monster? Is he really a thinking player? Strangely, when you think about it, he must put you on A2 versus any other kind of hand and so really should be betting the pot on the flop if he has a monster. So the check is kinda funny. Aggro players typically don't slowplay and certainly Party players don't slowplay much at all. I wouldn't be surprised if he has reraised a little too light and is now worried about your hand. Could, just, be an arguement for betting the flop.
