hendrix truley explored the sounds a guitar is capable of producing.
gilmour imo = not close. I mean i like the melodic bends and everything but were talking about legends amungst legends. I dont think jimi used his pinky either.

While I won't credit him with being the best, I think an honorable mention should goto Charlie Hunter, who plays bass and guitar at the same time. It's very interesting to watch, and while there are better videos to see him do it clearly, here's a fun one.
