[/ QUOTE ] Real clever, too bad its not true. Phillips never gave himself a chance in the NFL for off the field reasons, it wasn't his play. Dick Vermeil spoke very highly of his ability when the rams cut him for off field reasons. |

dude, you obv dont remember when belle ran over some kids trick or treating at his house. [/ QUOTE ] My favorite Belle story (then known as Joey Belle) was when a fan were heckling him in the outfield about a keg party, especially low-class given that Belle was recovering from alcohol abuse. Belle had enough, turned around and fired a ball right into the heckler's chest. The next day, fans in the outfield wore targets on the the front of their shirt, and "JOEY BELLE FAN CLUB" on the back. |

Tiki Barber averaged 3.8 and 3.2 yards per carry his first 2 seasons. One season doesn't get a guy run out of the league, especially when he is a high draft pick like Phillips. |

He was mediocre at best and would never improve due to his refusal to work hard and his off field problems. Yes, Vermiel did give him a "wish him well" speech when he was released, but guess what, that's classic Vermiel. |
