Re: Flop texture experiment (discussionesque )
Ill do 88.
Good Flops: 8A7r : We have a great hand, and it is very possible that villain connected as well, with some sort of straight draw, or an A. Big potential here. 356r: We have an overpair, we will be able to tell pretty easily if we are beat. Q53: One overcard, villain missed the majority of his hands and will fold to our cbet. AKx: Though it is bad for our hand personally, this is a great flop in position, as we get to rep the big cards. Bad flops: QTx two tone: Tons of draws, some overcards, villain likely has something. We wont take it down very often with a c-bet, and will often be forced to fold the best hand to bluffs/semi-bluffs. 776 two tone: This kind of flop can get us into trouble trying to protect our hand, especially if we get to a turn blank. Next hand: J9s PS. Good thread. |

If a spade comes, yea you are drawing to the second nut flush draw but how do you know someone else isn't drawing to the nuts. This is a board where the turn could very well leave you wondering what you can beat. |

Ok. Let's make the next one a bit harder - 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] [/ QUOTE ] Great flops: Quads obviously, you will prolly get a bet or two out of some pocket pairs. Good flops: A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (or any other rainbow flop combonation) because at this time you have the nuts, but its is only a good flop because you can easily be drawn out on. Bad flops: A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] or any other paired board with a flush draw (especially if you are in early position). This is a board leaving you wondering if you should be trying to knock the pair or flush draws out of the hand or just checking it down for its lack of strength. Also if you are in early position and decide to bet, fireworks can light up behind you with all the hands that can beat you out there. These are one of those flops where sometimes you can bet on the flop and take the hand down, but I wouldnt recomend stealing in this spot (regardless if you think you have the best hand). |
