Lets also remember the injury factor. Most NFL backs would be out of the game after the first bump or bruise.

You're thinking of soccer.

IMO someone like Reggie Bush would be the best rugby player ever. Someone like Jerome Bettis, not so much.

Reggie Bush would suck as a Rugby player, because he'd always lateral the ball to no one.

The first part is correct, but the last part isn't. If you watch Rugby it isn't all about speed. Power is a major factor. I think Bettis would be a very good rugby player.

I think many NFL backs would do well in Rubgy, as well as LB's and many saftey's. All are exceptional athletes, and I would imagine all have great stamina. You can't play a sport that requires constant short burts of speed and strength and not have stamina.

do you realize the difference between rushing the ball 20 times in a game with a lot of rest in between rushes and playing 80 minutes of constant action, offense and defense included? its totally different, it would take the players a long time to get used to the change.

[/ QUOTE ] Right, maybe a month of training. Which isn't a whole lot. Most of the RB's and LB's would have to drop a few pounds, DB's not so much. Either way, we are talking about elite athletes, so the training wouldn't be that difficult. Also, everyone has seen the intense training playes like Walter Payton did. You honestly think this would be hard for them?

a month? lol, it would take much longer.

of course they could eventually become excellent players, they are retardedly good athletes, it would just take way longer than most people think. he'd have to learn how to tackle and play defense, etc.
