yeah the Republicans need to come up with a "gay marriage" or the like tactic to drive the conservatives to the polls quickly to make us forget about them liking young boys. [/ QUOTE ] ROTFLOL |

Funny thing about this whole thing is, Democrats and the mediathe republican leadrship have been sitting on this story for MONTHS, just waiting for the midterms to let the cat out of the bag and stir up some troublehoping it would go away quietly. Doesn't this point out what is wrong with the US politcal system/electorate? Swing votes are decided due to a sex scandal not the issues. I don't consider this turn of events a good sign in any possible sense. [/ QUOTE ] I agree. I'd like to get these clowns out of office but it would be sad if this is what it takes to do it. Though it would not surprise me at all if this caused political change. I'd argue Bush won because the Republicans spent 8 years throwing mud at Clinton, rode the Monica scandal for all its worth, and then turned to America and said, "We need to change the tone in Washington." Americans are just stupid enough to vote Republicans out for the wrong reason. A sex scandal. |

[ QUOTE ]
You're seriously kidding yourself if you think anything close to a meaningful percentage of "80m American poker players" care about, or even know about, the recent legislation. [/ QUOTE ] YOu konw I'm not so sure about this. Their is a popular afternoon talk show in Cleveland here and they talked about this for a while. I think as people find out about this they are going to be upset, a lot of people play online poker for fun (even if they lose) and I think that finding out that the goverment is stepping in and telling them what to do and not to do does not sit well with most Americans. |
