[ QUOTE ]

At the prices of your drinks, they better be.

~ Rick

[/ QUOTE ]

I know its impossible to get you to pay for a drink at our lounge in Phoenix, so I guess I gotta comp ya. Ugh your a cheep f*cker Seriously though if you rent a car, the first two rounds are on me.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm not cheap in the sense that I won't reach for the check first or buy my share or drinks, life circumstances (I pay for two households) just force me to maximize "bang for the buck". So if we drink Bud beer or house wine or well vodka (OK mixed with juice), more than half the drinks are on me. But if we go to a fancy place and order that "drink to impress" stuff, I'm tapped out for the near future unless I start to run a lot better (yesterday manage to lose a huge pot holding KK v KJ on a KJx flop ).

[ QUOTE ]
I dare you to argue the chained must move concept to the staff at CAZ, its absolutely futile. The staff there is clueless and isolated from the rest of the poker universe. Sad considering how great the room is.

Remember CAZ is in the middle of nowhere... its an experience.

[/ QUOTE ]

Many rooms do well because they are in a great market area (a rich retiree community like Scottsdale just has to be) and they are isolated from competition. So when they have a dozen or so decent size games management pats itself on the back, nor realizing that they could double that if they used their heads. It's really sick.

That said, I have a bit of Don Quixote in me, so I'll give it a try if I get to know someone a bit. It would probably be a good idea to work in a "more tips" angle if I'm talking to a floor.

Default Thanks...

The talk seems to be of high prices but The Inn at Pima is listed on the Casino Arizona Lodging website at $64 per night this time of year (apparently to get this rate you need to register
through the casino). It appears to be only a few miles away from CA. Is this decent, and if not are there better places to stay?

[/ QUOTE ]

Thanks all for your input. We have a guaranteed reservation at The Inn at Pima above at $65 per night plus tax as long as we get the Cashback Players Club card from CA. They originally quoted $105 for a suite, but we went for the regular room with two beds. Appears to be only a few minutes away so it should work out well.

BTW, you don't need a limo, you can practically walk to the casino from the Inn. PM me when you get into town and I'll say hi. I've been playing mid-day 5-150 almost every day now.

Thats not a good reccomendation, they will be stranded. The casino is a good 15-20 minute walk from the highway, and they will want to get food & stuff.

I said "practically", which means only in an emergency. But temps are dropping into the 90s now

And don't be mad I never offered you a ride, I didn't think my ten year old toyota was up to your standards esp. since I only clean it annually...

Might not be able to PM anyone once I'm on the road. I hadn't been traveling much until the last year so I've never owned a laptop. Worse yet, my friend hasn't even turned on any sort of computer, and he is somehow proud of it!

Edit: I suppose I could PM you now but I realy don't think I'll need rides since my friend has a car and my cell reception outside of LA is dubious for some reason (don't have the right chip and really don't use the phone much). But you should see me in your games anyway, I'll be donking for sure.

That fits my standards. In fact its better than my own ride (an eleven year old Saturn). But it looks like my friend (who's driving) will be adjusting his schedule and playing until 2:00am or so, which is the time I'd like to play till. If we do some touring of the Phoenix area, it would probably be during the day, getting to the casino around 4:00 pm or so.

Anyway, this is mostly a poker trip. We screwed off too much our two trips to Las Vegas, and figure Scottsdale will be safe from temptation.

We are at Inn at Pima now. Seems to have everything a poker player would need, including free computer use (love it since i don't own a laptop).

Thanks again for the help.
