Yea, that's what I was thinking after my 7th post on the issue and reading that it wouldn't be effective for many days.

Bob, what's your plans?

From what I gather, internet gambling will be legal for at least 210 days more. I believe the Indian and Las Vegas casinos can fund this legislatiion better than Party and Stars can fight it, so it will most likely stick. In hindsight, I suggested cycling your cash one time (to signal that you might permenantly cash out if it was illegal).

I think many sites, like Party, believe that US players will continue playing, dispite it being illegal. But I'm pretty sure you'd quit, and at least a percentage of others.

More than 1,200 players have joined the Poker Player's Alliance (PPA) this week thanks to a five-day PokerStars.com promotion that allows players on that site to become members of poker's largest lobbying group by participating in a poker tournament.

For a $1 entry fee, Poker Stars members can play in a $5,000 guaranteed tournament with the poker room throwing in a basic PPA membership for registering. The promotion began on Wednesday and will continue until Sunday with nightly tournaments at 9:30 p.m. So far, Poker Stars has given away $10,000.

The goal, according to PPA President Michael Bolcerek and Poker Stars Director of Communications Nolan Dalla is to swell the ranks of the PPA to a point where the organization can effectively lobby against federal legislation trying to ban American players from playing poker online.

"Poker Stars supports the notion that poker players should organize themselves to defend their basic freedoms," Dalla said. "Currently, the rights of poker players are being threatened at several levels. Poker Stars supports the objectives of the PPA, which is to give a voice to the 70 million poker players in the United States who enjoy playing the game and being a part of a great American tradition."

IMO, the various large poker businesses need to form a united front and work more closesly together or else they all rsik losing out on the profitable US market. Im not sure at this point just how much they coordinate with each other. I do agree with you that they should be reaching out to their US constituency and trying to mobilise more then they have. They should be leading the charge....not the players.

Im sure the sites have done as much as they can behind the closed doors. Also I would be very suprised if they dont already have some ideas of what to do in future and how to keep the business running.
This aint any better to them then it is to us.
