If your hair bothers you and money is not an issue, I say do it! I think hairloss can be the single factor that ages a man the most. Good luck, keep us updated.

Keep your head buzzed on a 1 or 2 clip. You'll be groovy.

Don't listen to the anti-hair donks. Get the surgery. You'll look better, you'll feel better, and the confidence boost that you'll get with your new hair will make you feel like a new man. Don't let fear get in the way of living a better life.

Alot of it depends on the shape of your skull, would you look good as a bald guy? Some folks can pull it off and some can't.

I don't want ingest a pill for decades just to have a receding hairline anyway.

You are going to have to do this anyway. The problem is that you will continue to thin around the transplanted hair. Propecia and/or Dutasteride may not regrow any new hair but it should keep what you have.

Do some research on Intercytex. This is a UK company that is leading the charge in hair cloning. Bosley Medical already has the rights to be the first to offer their product in the US when it becomes available. If money is no object, it may be ready to go in the UK as soon as '08. Don't get your hopes up too high, though.

If you can reconcile yourself to the fact that you will have to take DHT inhibitor until cloning hits the market, then I say go for it. Some guys look fine bald but others really look like crap.

Also, depending on how much you have thinned, you may be a eligible for Follicular Unit Extraction. With FUE, they extract follicles individually with a special tool instead of cutting a chunk of the back of your head out. This is the most state-of the-art and expensive method currently offered.

Go to the Hairlosstalk.com discussion forums and read up on this carefully before doing anything. It is absolutely crucial that you find the best doctor you can for hairline work. Some of these guys are apparently so good they can make a couple thousand hairs look like 10,000 where as some of the others are butchers and cons.

Out of curiosity, how much does the surgery cost?

[/ QUOTE ]

Anywhere between $5000 to $15,000 depending on how much needs to be done. Maybe more for a top-notch surgeon.
