Re: all-in using the rock
Play 20/40 at the Mirage with Norm McDonald and everyone drinking and using the rock, and you'll have a new found appreciation for the rock.
Routinely saw 5+ way action for 5 bets preflop. How could you not like scenarios like this? |

Re: all-in using the rock
My impression is that use of the rock is ultimately voluntary. A player could really unbundle it anytime he wanted to. It may not be good for the game, but if the player with the rock doesn't want to participate he is within his right to unbundle. |

Anyone who unbundles it is an ass, but its his or her right to do so unless the house has posted rules that say otherwise. TT [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] |

Re: all-in using the rock
The rock is awesome, everyone should use it in any game where the casino allows it

The more I think about it, the more I hate the idea of the "rock". [/ QUOTE ] The rock is awesome, you suck. |

Re: all-in using the rock
I hate rock eaters, but I don't see a problem eating it in this case. The reason unbanding it is looked down upon is because it isn't their money, as it was formed by the community and is posted as a community blind. When you win that blind, you aren't really winning any money per se, but rather just the possession of the community blind. But in this case he didn't win the community-owned blind; he won chips.
The only other time I don't really care that much if it gets eaten is if someone leaves the table while having the rock. It's nice if some action loving sucker buys it from them, but I don't blame them if they just unband it and leave. I unband it and give a chip back to each player who contributed, but I don't look down on someone who just eats it on their way to the cage. PS. Responses in this thread just quoting rhetoric about how "only nits eat rocks" are stupid. The guy who effectively ate the rock was the guy who bet the river. |

Re: all-in using the rock
Yeah rock could be pretty good for the game but sometimes it just kills it. I often play in the game where rock hands become rock\3bet\everybody folds type of a deal.

Re: all-in using the rock
Ive never heard of the rock. Where and when does this come into play. Are there minimum limits where this happens?
