Re: KISS album evaluation
More misc. crap:
First album: Strutter: preface to "Hotter than Hell", a song a bout a street whore Nothing to Lose: Gene's song describing his curiosity about anal sex over a ligtht hearted rock and roll beat. Firehouse: Lame Paul Stanley song with "Woo Hoo" in it Cold Gin- Ace Frehely comes clean about his reason for living. Let me Know- Paul Stanley Special Kissing Time- Meh Deuce- Gene Simmons song about getting a [censored]. Best line is "Get up and Get your Grandma Outta Here." Love Theme from Kiss- best song on the album, no singing Lead guitars in harmony. Will be popular on later songs. 100,000 Years- When played live in concert, this song lasts that long. The only cool part is the guitar solo. Black Diamond- Another song about a crack whore sung my Peter Criss with a frog in his throat. The only good part is the segue into Ace's guitar solo. Hotter Than Hell Album- Got to Choose- Paul Stanley special with Woo woo woo Parasite- Strange song with tons of syncopation and a cool guitar solo. Awesome! Goin' Blind- Gene sings about the results of his mastubatory habits over a slightly morose slow song. Hotter Than Hell- Strutter part II, Paul Stanley sings about his early fascination with street whores. Let me Go, Rock and Roll, an early attempt at Rock and Roll All Night, yet a flop. All The Way- Gene sings about sex again Watching You- A cool song about paranoia, awesome. Mainline- Light hearted rock and roll song with no substance. Coming Home- A song about extramarital affairs. Strange Ways- A cooler title than song Dressed to Kill Room Service- Gene sings about getting sex from hotel maids. Two Timer- Gene sings about a girl who cheated on him Ladies in Waiting- Gene sings about groupies he's waiting to have sex with. Getaway- Ace's reaction to stress when Cold Gin is not available. Rock Bottom- Paul Stanley Special C'mon and Love Me- Paul Stanley Special Anything for My Baby- Paul Stanley, unlike Gene Simmons, has trouble getting laid. She- A dark dirge by Gene Simmons, the only song of any musical substance on this album. Love Her All I Can- Paul is horny Rock and Roll All Nite- 2nd attempt at a rock anthem, this one caught on. The only reason to buy this album, as if you havent heard the song enough. -J |

Re: KISS album evaluation
[ QUOTE ]
Also, anybody old enough to have watched the KISS 'Phantom of the Amusment Park' TV movie? I remember watching it, can't remember whether I was still a 'fan' or not, but shaking my young head thinking, "W.T.F. This is not rock and roll, man." [/ QUOTE ] I remember watching it as a kid on TV at my grandmother's house...how rock n' roll is that! |
