Wtf, Pushing hand 1 -? WHY?!? [/ QUOTE ] We likely have the best hand and a lot of FE. That's why. Though calling isn't a crime, and possibly better than pushing. |

Sykes - Yeah, but if you push i'd say your a coin flip(AQ maybe occasionally calls). OR you behind AA/KK.
I assume you push and assume he's folding, but IMO push is horrible. Someone want to discuss this more why people are ok with a push? I dont see why you'd want to risk your stack with AK right now.... i dont think pushing is a HUGE leak, i just think its bad. |

Pushing ownz here, both times. Villain's range is 00ber wide, probably at least 66+, AT+. You pwnenate this with AK. Playing AK postflop OOP sucks (actually playing OOP in general sucks).
I'm pushing --> Shipping it --> profit both of these hands. |

A call with AQ is great, a call with any PP sucks. You don't have much FE at the lower buy-ins - he's not thinking about stack sizes or ICM or what you might be reraising with, he's just looking at the pretty cards in front of him. I think you have a deep enough stack here to call and see what the flop brings. |

On #1 if you're thinking about pushing, why not try a stop and go? We get him to fold on a good majority of flops when he's still ahead of us. And if we do get called, the result would be the same if we had pushed preflop (since this an $11 he's not folding to our AI preflop). The only time we lose out is when Ax would have called AI preflop but then folds to our flop push.
Edit - I guess I'm assuming he'll fold 77 on a QT3 flop etc..which may not be the case at the $11's. Anyway, mix it up...try a stop and go sometime, push other times. |

Cuz you have AK and a huge stack preflop. You dominate stuff here. You don't want dominated stuff to fold.

Ok, I think the problem is that I consider raising/reraising with 1/3 my stack, sometimes up to 40%, instead of just pushing.
Should I just set the limit at 30% at the $11's? (And am I right to think that this limit shouldn't be as rigid at higher buyins ?) |
