Tightish player min-reraises preflop and goes for his tank with something other than AA there? lol

Maybe I shouldnt have used that word to describe him, he was only at the table for 10 hands and I wasnt paying close attention. I just meant he wasnt super loose, which doesnt mean much. There is still a very significant donk factor.

I wasn't too worried about MP here. He was bad and could have a lot of things.

With MP calling $100 it is time to jam and try and either push him out or make him pay. If MP would of folded, I may consider just calling to try and get more action from hands that I beat. I would find it difficult to fold on the flop.

What do you guys think he has then? Or do you care? Btw I never see this min-raise with QJT9 or something.

he could have any playable hand here, no pair no draw is a big portion of his range. Plenty of players are capable of reraising small in position with non-AA hands, then betting this flop when checked to.

Default Results

I dont usually post results this early, but I'm pretty convinced now I shoulda raised the flop, and most seem to agree. At the time I was in too much of a w/a w/b mode, not fully realizing how likely QJT was, and only half realizing how extremely rarely this concept applies to Omaha.

I called and button overcalled. River was an offsuit 2. MP had QJTx with 2 hearts, Button showed 5567, and I scooped a nice sized pot.

From Button's perspective, that's the problem with mixing it up with hands like 5567, 6788 etc. If you flop a set, you can't guarantee it's the best one. So really you're just playing for the straight, in which case don't play a paired mid-hand in the first place when you're better off with 5678.

Still, I'd play 5567 too...

absolutely, it's just like QQ on the button in hold'em. If you do flop an overpair, you can't guarantee it's the best one. So really you should fold it because you're better off with AA or, at a stretch, KK.
