Accord, Camry, Scion tC/xB. I have an '06 TC and I put $8K down and my monthly payments are $271 for 4 years. [/ QUOTE ] You're paying >21k for a 16.5k car. On a side note: get a tC, but get a better deal than this. Or get a Yaris. Or the new Nissan tiny-box-thing. Don't get an xB unless you hate driving |

In general, if you want good gas mileage, you really need to go with a 4cylinder car.
That said, I personally hate the feel of engines with no torque. It's tolerable with a manual transmission, but with most automatics the trans is constantly hunting for gears and revving all over the place. For what it's worth, the difference between 20mpg city and 25mpg city (probably about average for 6/4 cylinder cars), only equates to about $400 a YEAR. That's roughly an extra dollar a day to drive a real car. I'm no baller, but that's worth it to me. Think about it this way - if you went to rent a car, and they offered you a honda civic or a honda accord for $1 more, which would you take? |
