Just goto the cnn website. they have a real-time broadcast online. [/ QUOTE ] I am about 40 minutes into their coverage, and it has been terrible so far. A few minutes after the first plane hit, they switched to their local NY City affiliate. After the second plane hit, the New York ABC anchor went on and on about how navigational systems must have gone "awry." Two planes hit each World Trade Center Tower a few minutes apart, and this Einstein is talking about faulty navigational systems. |

Re: CNN to air real-time pipeline of 9/11
I was quite impressed how quickly so many things were put together. OBL gets a hat tip 70 minutes after the first hit. That really blew my mind. Terrorism in general is suspected just before Bush's address at 42 minutes in.
I was flying home that morning so I didn't get to see any coverage until 9:40 AM, when my connecting flight was clearly not going off. I got home 5 days later. At least I got home. |

Re: CNN to air real-time pipeline of 9/11
I watched both the CNN stream and the Fox stream.
While the guy at CNN thought the fuselage of plane 1 blew up, causing the second explosion (yes, they thought the first plane had been lying in the building still full of fuel), the people on Fox realized it was a two plane terror attack almost immediately, and realized that the planes had disintegrated on impact. In many other small ways, the quality of the Fox anchors (the Fox Friends show) in 2001 was heads above CNN. It was quite dramatic, good to see Fox invests in quality anchors. |

Re: CNN to air real-time pipeline of 9/11
It looks like the CNN feed from that day is available on demand. I just turned it on and some guy is describing the first attack. In the Pipeline Live tab, click the "9/11 as it happened" link.
