[ QUOTE ] Limit Holdem [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] 6 players [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Joker is Button [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] 3 folds, Joker calls [/ QUOTE ] You're a very good writer though. [/ QUOTE ] Try reading HEPFAP. Limping on the button with Ax is a Sklansky-recommended play against loose blinds. His strategy is to limp in, and bet any flop checked to him. I've found that line is +EV. Like I always say, if you're going to be a nitty strategy wonk in BBV of all places, at least be right. Otherwise you sound like a double-douchebag. Nice try though, k thanks bye. |

The point is, thinking that open limping on the button in shorthanded games is wrong is a mindset that is very limiting to your game and shows narrow-mindedness, a lack of creativity, and general apathy towards holdem. |

I don't have HEFAP here, what types of opponents was that book talking about when he advocated this play. |

[/ QUOTE ] He was talking specifically about loose opponents. Ones that over-defend their blinds but play passively post-flop. I think you can also make this play with a hand like T9s, 98s, or even small pairs. It's important to note, before open limping on the button, if your opponents like to check-fold the flop if they miss. Usually unthinking loose-passive players will do this, which is why you can go in with ace-high and bet any flop they check to you. |

[/ QUOTE ] I just checked and it says 22, 33, or a hand like A6o. The reasoning behind this is that with A6o we're not in good shape unless we flop an Ace which is 1/5. So we shouldn't invest money preflop. We can just take a flop and bet if they check to us. The reason I don't agree with this is because the blinds are supposed to play straightforwardly postflop making it easy for us to play our hand. I think A6o certainly has an edge given that we have position and we won't spew bets postflop. There I go putting strategy in BBV : ( |

HEPFAP is also really weak-tight.
