Re: Are squeeze plays OK in PLO?

where did you get the figure that your ahead 80% of the time with this hand? [/ QUOTE ] No one potted it. Minimum bets = not top set. Generally people bet the strength of their hand. |

Re: Are squeeze plays OK in PLO?
[ QUOTE ]
Button ($167) is aggressive and has a wide range here. SB ($115) is pretty weak. Hero covers both. [Action on flop] Hero...? Hero played this hand well? [/ QUOTE ] I say you played it well as long as the button not only plays a wide range of hands to see flop, but is also willing to continue with a large range of non-nut hands. I would definitely push here if you think button would make this play with a bluff, single 7, 79, A7, 99. I would guess if you did the maths, its +EV overall considering the times he'll have the two hands you dont want to see him turn over. |

Re: Are squeeze plays OK in PLO?
Button is not stupid and definitely does not have a smaller full house.

Re: Are squeeze plays OK in PLO?
I don't have any problem with trying squeeze plays, but at the PL$50 level, this is way too fancy and unlikely to succeed IMHO.

Pardon my ignorance. What is a squeeze play, exactly?

Re: Are squeeze plays OK in PLO?
I'm guessing he means calling pf and closing the action; then, on the flop, check to the raiser who will bet, pretty much giving you best position because you are last to act (if the raiser bets).
The idea is to get some callers in between the raiser and you so you can check-raise even bigger and hopefully push out draws with such a huge raise. You can also get away from your hand if someone raises (especially a check-raise from someone on your right, since they probably have top set). |

Re: Are squeeze plays OK in PLO?
i think the best way to play this is to raise a lot on the turn then you might be able to put button on aces. the way you played it, i would call. EDIT: i would fold the river given you extra read given in the reply.

Re: Are squeeze plays OK in PLO?
[ QUOTE ]
Pardon my ignorance. What is a squeeze play, exactly? [/ QUOTE ] My understanding is when Player 1 bets fairly small, Player 2 calls, then Player 3 puts in a big raise. Player 1 might have best hand of all 3 players, but doesn't know what Player 2 is going to do and may not know if Player 3 has a better hand. So the hope is Player 1 folds. Then Player 2 called, but doesn't have a great hand, only a calling hand. This type of hand folds to the big raise from Player 3. That's my understanding anyway, I forget where I read it (in NLHE literature). |

It is just about possible I have a lower full house here, but I would not be raising it for value. |
