Yeah, you should fold preflop. Your odds may be good, but you're out of position and it's a large percentage of your stack. In this situation you're almost never seeing a flop that you like, and even if you hit a pair like this, what do you do? Don't blindly go by the odds, try to formulate a plan for the rest of the hand. If there's no plan that looks good to you then don't call.

I agree with other posters that you should fold PF, because any chip advantage at this blind/stack ratio is huge. (In other words those 300 chips are too valuable.) However, the call isn't totally horrible, imho.
As played, I agree to push the turn. On the other hand, if it were 4 rather than 5 handed with one micro-stack, it's probably a check on the turn. Speaking of the short stack, did he really fold his BB rather than check and see a free flop?? |

Once again, I've been a winning player for 3 years, I guess its just a hole I can improve on, if everyone else is folding PF. |

Do you think that perhaps you're letting your decision on how to play this hand preflop is being influenced by the result of the hand?
I would assume that checking here, and hoping to play for a cheap showdown or improve to a boat is your plan. If not, then betting, perhaps min betting, and folding to any aggression is an alternate plan. Both lines are reasonable, but since no one bet the flop, if it gets crazy on the turn/river, I can't imagine that you're ahead here a ton. |

Heh... that's not a fun spot.
At that stage of the tourney I think people are much less likely to draw to the river, so betting 1000 should be effective. AJ is betting the flop. KQ owns you, but they'll let you know when they hit and you generally expect a pre-flop raise with it at that stage. JJ raises pre-flop. You're not giving a flush draw correct odds to call, and you're not necessarily committed by betting 1000. |

By the way, I agree... fold pre-flop.
