la,

from my experience the turn bet is far more likely to be air w a cont bluff or else they flopped the nuts, or have a set. and if they bet the set they are not folding to a raise.

From my experience playing 5/10 (haven't played FT, though), not many are bet/folding this turn with two pair/sets. They're just as likely to reason that you're on overpair/bluff and will talk themselves into a call, especially without a huge read on you.

ok - right - so this is what i'm looking for. i'm surprised that solidish types won't fold 2 pair here, but i'm the rookie.

I don't think he's folding a set here either no - but I do think it's very possible he's bet-folding two pairs, with 98 being the least likely obv, and yeah I think 68 and 69 is def possible. It's also possible he made a raise with something like 97 on the flop, and yes I can def see people folding that here, if he's solid as you said.

By the way, I just realized you never clarified if this was ring or 6-handed - I assumed 6-handed anyway, but given the corollary to live games (which generally are ring) and chopping, I'm not sure now, haha.

And yeah, there was a bit of misunderstanding - I never meant he would only be folding when he followed through with air; if I never thought I'd be able to make him fold even the worst two pair here (like 68 or so), then I wouldn't like the move, and I'm pretty sure lap's assessment would be the same.

ok prev - this is the heart of my question - this action, in your experience is a set or the joint far more often than it is tptk or 2pair? they don't bet T9 on turn? and also, they're never folding sets here? i fold sets here live some.

if he bet this turn, it's to bet/call with whatever hand he bet with or bet/fold with air.

[/ QUOTE ]
if this is true, would this be a good spot to minraise vs an unknown without history?
