Does the game not play well online? Is there too much skill in the game? Why is no online casino/live casino spreading this game?

Considering the fact the triple draw is hardly spread anywhere online, it doesn't surprise me at all that KC Lowball isn't played. These games just aren't that popular yet. I have a feeling that KC lowball is a game where the fish wouldn't stand much of a chance. The experts would probably stay away from each other, waiting to pick off fish- and once the fish busted out enough times they would give up the game and it would die. This is true for the other big bet games as well, but since the player base is so much greater for NLHE and PLO, they won't dry out. I am happy that UB doesn't have KC lowball for this reason. And I have mixed feelings about them adding badugi.

1. Having only two betting rounds is boring. Fish like big pots, big pots are built more often with more betting rounds.

2. Live ones would go BUSTO way faster than in other big bet games. In NLHE a lot of the biggest pots are with a big made hand against another big made hand or a big draw. Even fish get these good hands once in a while and in the end the fish win their share from these fairly close situations. In PLO all in situations when it all gets in you're often going to be a 3:2 favorite at best. In NL 2-7 the fish will often be drawing stone dead or be a monster dog with 3-7 outs in an optimistic situation when the money gets in. They will also get small balled to death since they probably won't have any concept of how to play anything other than complete garbage and complete monsters.

I've never played NL 2-7 before, but I have a suspicion that the game would be more interesting and action packed if it had a sizable ante.

I and a few others on here played in the very brief cash game that lasted shortly after the opening of internet KCL, it was ultra dry, most people played very tight, occasionally a straggler would come in, donk off a bit, then leave when they realized they didnt know what they were doing. They added an ante eventually but by then the game had died.

I just wrote the longest rambling theoretical sprawling about it, but in essence I believe this to be true: The more variance for a good player that the game produces- the longer that game will flourish. This is not entirely true I realize, cough *limit Omaha High*.

But anyways, For good players, the variance in KCL or 5 card draw is quite small, which basically means they are gutting their opponents quicker and more painfully. Games like NLHE or PLO let their prey habitually put in moderate bets as moderate dogs, and they have plenty of chances to catch up to win a big bet and a fat pot to sustain them for a little bit. They are bleeding, but slowly.

In KCL you have one draw to put in a little money and then an abrupt psychological standoff for a decision of all your money, the good players will consume the bad way too fast.

Cliffnotes: Yea, the edge is too big for good players I think.

They changed it. Now it's listed as "$300 guaranteed" and it's a $15+1.50. 4 minutes left and we need 6 more people registered for it to run (at a huge overlay--- come quick!)

Didn't run tonight, only got up to 5 people and they required at least 9 to start.

I don't see it either. Maybe GamesGrid finally pulled the plug on this tourney so that they can run more of those ridiculous "Tony G Satellites". Is Tony G really the best poker celebrity GG could get and vice versa; I guess Howard Lederer didn't forgive Tony G's behavior from the Aviation Club Paris WPT event and therefore Tony is the 2nd most notable poker pro (after Daniel Negreanu) who has no chance of being a Friend of Full Tilt.

Sorry Mark, didn't see your message until too late

It would have helped if the geniuses who run GamesGrid would have actually indicated that it was 2-7 Lowball in the tournament lobby. We really just need Stars to spread this game.
