ARE YOU [censored] KIDDING ME?

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU [censored] PANSIES IN THIS FORUM?

OP: HEY I HAVE A GOOD HAND WHAT SHOULD I DO?

EVERYONE: CHECK/CALL THE WHOLE WAY WITH NUTS/REDRAW HE MIGHT HAVE NUT NUT AND HAVE YOU SCOOPED OR QUARTERED.

THIS FORUM HAS THE WORST CASE OF MONSTERS UNDER THE BED SYNDROME EVER.

Seriously, this isn't 25/50 cents. Any nonretarded opponent is 3betting the turn here with A23.

Baronzeus, just open fold turn next time if he checks to you. You might be quartered and you have no counterfeit protection, you can't put money into the pot on such a risky proposition.

What Xellos said above.

By the looks of this, it seems likely he has a low you can beat and a pair of Aces. I wouldn't see any value in him betting the river so he can save a bet in case he gets scooped by a 4-card hand. I think a bet on the river is still good in case he got counterfeited for low, and might fold a weak Ace here.

you [censored] moron, all you said was he'd have to have a perfect 4 card hand to have him quartered. YOU ARE WRONG. so shut the [censored] up and kill yourself, i never said he had that hand, just that you were wrong that he needs 4 perfect cards instead of 3 to beat baron.

You have got to be kidding Ben. 3 handed?! You throw away K632 single suited with the king? That's a powerful hand!

I would throw it away before the flop, and transfer everyone at the table $50 because the fold wasn't insta .

why raise the flop? What did you hope would happen?

He folds KKQJ etc instantly, he calls with A5KQ, then folds to an unfavorable card, or he calls with whatever and checks the turn, giving a free card. I like a flop raise.

I think its opponent dependent (onthe flop). you are in effect semi-bluffing here. you are very rarely going to be ahead here, and if you get to showdown, you are more likely to be scooped than to scoop him, tho you are often going to win half the pot. But given the pot odds, that doesn't mean continuing/raising is wrong due to fold equity.

On balance I myself probably raise there more often than any other action, but it depends since your hand's value is very fold equity dependent so the less your opponent can fold the less I like raising, and i don't think raising is automatic. thats why my original question really was a question and not a "youre an idiot and I'm socrates" post in disguise.

and on the river I bet/raise and its not close.

river is such an easy bet. no way are you getting quartered and you picked up a pair. like another poster said, even if you didn't pick up a pair this would be a super easy bet because you may get him to fold a pair if he has no low hand.

Won't the flop raise often buy a free river? If you flat call the flop and the turn bricks (or even if it doesn't) you can be sure he'll bet. Besides the semi-bluff set-up for later in the hand, you are more likely to avoid being priced in to calling a BB on the turn if you end up to be playing for half the pot--a likely scenario if you just call.
