Oh and all those rooms that advertise spreading 10/20 on allvegaspoker, WRONG. I walked down the entire strip and found interest list after interest list with one or two names on it. Just go straight to the Bellagio, put your name on the list, grab a drink, and man up and play the 15/30.

It seems like every room is now comprised of about 145 1/2 NL tables and 2 2/4 limit tables. Awesome.

Not technically wrong. If people want to play it, a room will spread it. The games listed on avp are direct from every card room. I've seen some of the 10/20 and 15/30 variety spring up in random places. Again, all rooms claim to spread games but if you don't have anyone wanting to play them, you aren't actively spreading it. If you come out and say "we dont spread that game" you now have zero possibility of ever getting it going.

From recent experience I found the Mirage 6/12 to be a tight passive game that most players played very predictably. The Venetian 6/12 was much looser and passive and featured many more bad players. The Mirage had players who could be exploited but in general I found them to be better. The Venetian 9/18 was also a good game with typically 4 good players(by my standards meaning I thought I was worse than them) and always a couple loose passive calling stations. This game varied from very aggro and tricky at times to very soft.
I found the Wynn to only be running 1 and sometimes 2 8/16 tables while I was there and it was very rocky during the day. Due to a bad experience with managment there I only played twice and both times the game was full of old local rockish nits.

The best things about the Mirage $6/12 game is that it is consistently available, and generally the action is predictable. The only other Vegas poker room that consistently has $6/12 is Venetian. I've hit that game up a few times this summer, and I strongly prefer it to Mirage.

There are some pretty decent mid-limit players in both games. However, there has recently been a much greater likelihood of drunk/inexperienced fish sitting down in the Venetian game, but there are still enough rocks to make the game relatively predictable. For my money, Venetian is the best $6/12 game in town at the moment.

I played the Mirage and Caesar's Place 6-12 in July and found CP to be a better game, never played the V.

Hi StaticShock: I understand this is a problem. I'm working on a solution, and what I've come up with so far is possibly annotating each game at each casino with a statement like "regularly offered" or "occasionally offered" as those tend to be the major categories that the games fall into.

What do you think? Would this help clear things up for readers? I don't want anyone else walking down the strip for that elusive $10/20 game

On AVP, the discussion forums have individual poker room threads that have listed in each of them the games are are regulary spread versus "offered"

I created the threads myself and attempted to be as accurate as possible as to which games are actually there most of the time. Check out the AVP disc boards for more info.

I haven't played CP in so long (haven't been there since Jan), so I can see how the consistent action at 6/12 would have drifted over to the V from there. Good to know. Thanks guys!

That's funny. No one does this now, or there would be more than one 10/20 game left in town.

The only thing Photoc ever says is: yadayadayadayda I Hate Venetian. Yadayadayadayada I hate LVM. We get it, you do not have to repeat it every thread.
I stayed 6 days at Mirage and except for 1-2 NL the games Suck. I played 35-40 hours at Venetian 5-10 NL and loved it.
Nothing like eating a great meal at the Grand Lux on your Poker comp.

You had to bump this just because of that? Wow.

Actually, i've never said once that I hated the Venetian. I said I was unhappy one night when I went there because of the list keeping/not enough tables, but never once have I said I hated it. Btw, the yada yada thing was a joke between myself and LVM. It was not meant to be condesending like your post was.
