I don't like a "free showdown raise" here. With that sort of play, you want to be able to fold to a 3-bet, certain that you are beat. But you have outs to win about 1/3 of the time and don't want to charge yourself extra.

The main reason I just call is I want villain to bet again on the river if I improve, so I can get in 2 bets when I have the best hand, not when behind.

The checkraise is odd and may have been a bluff...I want to see a showdown if he has a pocket pair or something funky.

like i said i think i bet the river about half the time(not just the half i improve, either [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]). if i raise the turn it's because the goof can fold. if there is no hope of him folding enough to make the raise profitable calling is fine, betting when checked to.
