God knows the number of hair on each of our heads.

Isn't the greatness of God awesome? Great post.

We're so small and insignificant in the grand scheme of things, and yet God knows the number of hair on each of our heads. That amazes me.

[/ QUOTE ]

Too bad the church leaders of the Inquisition, who threatened Gallileo with torture for positing that the earth wasn't the center of the universe, didn't have the same outlook as you.

Does he know the hairs on my dogs, too? If not, why not? Are they not also his dear creatures? If so, seems to be a waste of effort given the hair falling off my dog incessantly.

Also, I wish he wasn't spending so much time counting hairs and did something about this children found in a blazing hot attic in their own feces recently in my town... guess he had other important things to do or it was his will to put those children through years of a living hell... at least he knew the status of all their hairs (must have been hard to keep track considering all their open sores and stuff--all the more proof of his greatness).

God moves in mysterious ways.. isn't it wonderful...

by "pointless" I didn't mean that they do nothing..

I mean that with an omnipotent god's capabilities, it seems unnecessary

God must have been inordinately fond of sphere shaped objects.

I can't remember the name of it, but I used to have a beginner's book on astromony that very eloquently explained the vastness of the universe. It was mind-numbing how small our world is in the grand scheme of things.

Anyone know the book I'm talking about (or can recommend another one?).
