rum drinks - Page 2

When you want a drink without sugar: Havana Club, lime, soda, mint leaves, ice. I like light HC in this one.

Anyone remembers the name? I think one of Hemingway's favourites was something like this, but this isn't the most famous one.

BTW, you can just go to webtender.com and then go to the 'in my bar' section. Mess around with a bunch of mixers and rum and see what list of drinks they give you.

i don't want to be the guy that everyone waits on, so daiquari's are out.

when i got drunk on rum, i was mixing pretty much 2 kinds of cheap rum, pinneapple juice and grapefruit juice. everyone else thought it was disgusting, but i enjoyed it.

how is rum and oj? simple and easy. is there a name for this drink?

Dark rum and pineapple juice is pretty common.

should i just ask for dark rum and pineapple juice? will dive bars carry dark rum. i'm obviously an idiot when it comes to rum, but i'm trying to find my inner pirate.

There are some common dark rums. Bacardi Select and Meyer's (not sure of spelling) are probably the most well known. Maybe a more expert rum drinker can tell you more.

Why not, if it's fresh-squeezed, but most ppl prefer it with vodka.

Try every variety of yellow blended juices and you'll find your favourite. Add grenadine or something when it's too sour. Also experiment with different kind of rums and Stroh too (an Austrian pseudo-rum booze, tastes great).

I've never heard of dark rum, I just knew there was spiced and clear. Is it pretty much just a spiced rum?

I think the main thing is that rum is typically mixed with juice or soda, which makes the drink very sweet and tasty. Thus, you drink more/faster.

I don't mind drinking girl drinks. In fact, I was at a shore bar last weekend and was drinking pina coladas and rum punches. I got severely impaired. Good stuff.

Order Piña Colada. Lot's of different recipes, some better than others. Made with Batida de Coco is very good and easy to make. Rum, BdC, pineapple juice, soda, ice.
