[ QUOTE ]
can anyone tell me a reason for not using a continuation bet on the flop? [/ QUOTE ] On this flop? None. You have only two opponents, the board is not especially coordinated, and you have no particular reason to think your hand isn't ahead right now. Easy bet, all day every day. Add another couple of opponents and/or make the board more coordinated (J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]) and now a continuation bet is more dubious. The SSHE section on overcards is good for this kind of stuff. |

The SSHE section on overcards is good for this kind of stuff. [/ QUOTE ] Sounds like a good idea. I will read this section again as I would not have bet this flop. I suppose our AK could be the best hand here. |

I don't mind this, although I really think the only other option would be to fold after the flop raise. I don't mind the call since you're getting 9:1 and have 2 overcards, and although they're not guaranteed to be good I think in this particular spot they're probably worth 4-5 outs. The turn is an easy fold with no reads. I play this the same way.
