ditto to most of what everyone else said, but dont be afraid to take the occasional shot at a bigger buy in tourney like the 10r and 30r, 50fo and the sort. if youre good enough to play these events, you'll be moving up in no time. (unless your like me and punt your winnings in cash games)

I am shocked you don't think 50 BI is enough for 20/180s....

Noah, I'm interested to know your thoughts on building a $1k roll. A blend of MTT, STT and ring, if you play all 3. Thnx, dude

45 man $12 turbos. I currently consider that the best way to build a roll right now. The play is just awful and people play wayyyy too tight for the blinds.

I think it is plenty, assuming you are a winning player.

$15+1 18 man turbos too. And I usually play during the day...the few times I've tried any turbos around 4am the play has been noticeably FAR worse than when I usually play.

Should you really be playing 20/180s and 5R with a $1k bankroll?

[/ QUOTE ]

No no no no no.

[/ QUOTE ]

I would say yes to the 20/180s and no to the 5rs. Field size.

Aight.. I searched PT for my worst downswings in the 180s. I suck at PT, so I may have missed some OOTM tourneys or whatever.

20/180s: -$520
4/180s: -$176

The 4/180 downswing is the equivalent of $880 at the 20/180s, and the 20/180s are higher variance. Granted, I could've just had unusually high variance in the 180s, but these are really hard downswings for someone on a 1k BR to take.

I'm sure plenty of good players have full 1k downswings at the 20/180s.
