are you allowed to trade?

ten team league eh...this is really tough. Probably depends on who you believe as far as TE scoring this year.

Smith, then Fitz, then Gates.

I really think Gates is going to struggle with Rivers this year. Smith and Fitz are going to be solid. What other WRs and TEs are going to be available to draft (i.e. who's not getting kept)?

Id be happier with Smith, or Fitz if you are really worried and just grab Witten or Heap later on.

Fitz voters are nuts. This is a two horse race IMO.

For the couple of you who think I can re-draft Gates... Keep in mind that by the time I pick, there will be 39 players off the board. I really doubt he will still be there.

[/ QUOTE ]

He only has to last 9 picks, so that 39 number is deceiving. Still, you can nab Witten, Heap, Crumpler later on.

I don't think Fitz owners are nuts. First of all, Steve Smith has already missed 1 whole season due to injury. Second of all, he is older than Fitz who is only 22. I think last year we saw the best possible year from Steve and that was due to him really having no true #2 or no real true threats at the RB position. With the addition of Deangelo and the hopeful emergence of Foster, on top of adding Keyshawn, I don't think his numbers will be as outstanding this year and for future years although I think he is definitely better than Fitz at this time.

The advantage you have with Fitz is he has a great #2 WR in Boldin, his team did add Edge and that should lessen his protection but he still has a pass happy coach. On top of this, with Leinert becoming the future QB, they have a much more settled team for the next 5 or so years while Delhomme is at a later point in his career with no potential future starter.

Gates-I think he's great but I'm not sure how the Rivers-Gates connection is going to run. We all knew how effective Brees-Gates was but that might not hold to be the same with Gates although he will still be an excellent target and is relatively young.

I'd love to hear any reason at all that Fitz voters are nuts.

This is a keeper league, the young guys have way more value, and Fitz is a 22 year old WR that was already a Top 5 WR LAST SEASON.

I say Fitzgerald is your guy.

None of these are good keeper options. But Gates has to be the clear choice.

Due to scarcity and the level of TD production Gates puts out at a low-scoring position, his value as a keeper is much better than the other two. No matter how good they are, wide receivers are generally really inconsistent and are very system-dependent. And the horrible draft system and salary cap means that teams change systems constantly.
