Bet more on river. Raise flop to build pot if he has lower overpair.

Putting your opponent on a busted draw is not a reason to bet so small at the river, because if he has like a 9-high flush draw or something silly he's not going to call even that much. You have to realize that nothing hands arent even goign to call 2 dollars, but hands that think you're FOS will call up to a certain amount, and that's usually around a half pot sized bet. Learning to make real value bets in paramount in this game. |

[/ QUOTE ] [img]/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img] If you raise the flop to $5 and bet $6 on the turn, villain will have a little less than 1/2 pot left on the river. Unless your read is he will call an AI with a draw on the turn, then setting up a river bet (push) that a marginal hand can call usually works for me. I want to get worse hands pot-committed. A half-pot turn bet doesn't give a draw good odds. |
