I actually feel the same way, as long as the Mets don't win.

What I really want is for the NL west team to win... actually any NL west team sans Bonds... so maybe I don't quite feel the same way about ANY nl team winning. But I would really like for San Diego to win seeing as the national media spends 95% of their time talking about how good the AL East and Central are, plus the odd mandatory reference about how the Mets are over .600.

[/ QUOTE ]

well there are more teams in either the AL East or AL Central 10+games over .500 .. than there is in the entire NL

a team 5gms under .500 in the NL is as close to the WC spot,as the 12gms over .500 Bluejays are

Theoretically speaking, I could root for any NL team depending on who the AL representative is. I could easily root for the Cardinals.

And I would say the Mets are more like the 7th best team in the AL than the tenth.

Given the way baseball tends to work, I will basically be rooting for whichever team I hate less, and only because I want the fans of the losing team to suffer more.

Of teams in contention, I can stand the following: San Diego.

Why do you hate the Tigers? Why would anyone hate a team that lost 120 games a few years ago?

will depend on the matchup.

I generally root for the team which has caused me less pain, which often turns out to be an NL team

Jim Leyland. Never liked that guy or how he tended to destroy young pitchers arms.

Something about the Detroit story, I dunno, I'm just not feeling it.

(a large part of this is that I pretty much like the M's and nobody else, and the M's being horrible for a while pretty much means I'm not feeling baseball a whole ton)

good luck with that. right now the mets account for nearly half the chance the NL has to win the world series.
