Why don't you give us some details on the event? E.g. what city this took place in, how you did, essentially a trip report. Thx.

Sure.
The one this year was held just outside of Philly in Phoenixville, PA.

People came in from NYC, Deleware, Virginia, Pittsburg and NJ. We planned it months in advace to get eveyone to be able to commit.

In the first event, mini-golf, we went to what was hailed as the toughest mini-golf course in Philly. It was quite hard. I did well by taking third in the event, so I didnt get any individual event money, but I got third place points.

In bowling (I stink at bowling) I was happy with 10th out of 15.

At the track I hit a nice trifect for like $180, which gave me the win in that event and $50 on top of my $180 trifecta as also first place points.

Then, at bocce I took third, and took 3rd in beer pong as well. These events ran at the same time (a bit of planning) so that no one was just standing around.

I took 4th in poker, then 2nd in darts.

By the time Rock paper scissors hit, I dont remember much...maybe 8th?

But I did get first overall...

Oh yeah...we go to the bank before the events start and buy $300 in those nice brand new crisp $1 bills (you have to order them in advace) and everyone is required to buy $20 worth, so you have money for constant side betting throughout the day

Between everything I was up close to $600 or so.

Everyone just about hit some kinda prize as well.

If you decide to do it, be sure to consult the constitution when I put it up. We put 20 hours (literally) into it over the course of a few weeks in preparation for it.

And if you do it...you will have one of the best days of your life.

Jesus Josie, you are the alpha dog of that event.

Thanks for sharing, it would be a great idea if almost all of my friends weren't married with kids/old/sucked.

Please upload that constitution to the poster who requested it, should be an interesting read.

My friends and I started to do something like this a couple of years ago. We're all in the same area, so we planned to spread it out over several weeks.

We had billiards events, darts events, poker events, a four-round mini golf tournament, a one-on-one basketball tournament, bowling, and a couple of other things I'm forgetting. The final event was supposed to a 5k race held the morning after our late-night Beirut (beer pong) tournament.

Unfortunately, we had a rash of knee injuries that took out a couple of members of the group for a while, and we never got back on the horse and finished it. And now we're all spread out.

STuff like this can be insanely fun, though. Good on ya.
