You pretty much pegged this guy. I was just curious in terms of saying "I put you all in" when it is not heads up. I guess i got the answer to my question. Thanks guys.

[ QUOTE ]
5-5 no limit at the trop. 3 players in the hand, First player with $50 stack puts in $30, next player (big stack) says "I'll put you all in" and throws in $50, third player calls, first player calls all in. I tell big stack to be careful, because what he said may be construed as going all in. He assures me (in not so many words) that i am in idiot and that everyone at the table knew he meant that he was betting $50. Am i an idiot? Are there clubs/rooms around where this might be misinterpreted as him going all in? [/ QUOTE ] Your opponent is the idiot not you. Yes, it can be misinterpreted. He is in a three-way pot and should say the amount he is betting or go all-in. Alternatively, he can say that he can say "I raise the amount that dude has left"... but the best course of action is to ask for a count of the short stack and then bet that amount. If I was the third player and had a monster hand, I would certainly say that I "call the idiot's all-in." Now, after typing all that, I realize that the idiot also made an illegal raise because it is less than the raise of the first guy... so his raise must be to at least $60 and he should get a kick in the nuts... too bad ACJr. hasn't been around. |
