spicy,

bet/folding the turn is giving up a lot because we will be getting 7:1 with at least 4 outs. i also would not put it past anyone to c/r semibluff here.

jba,

i prefer just calling if you so please. i dont think many players will actually fold a pair here, the pot is not so large that this bluff has to work very rarely to be profitable, and really if he has a busted draw, chances are your hand is better anyway.

i only think either hand is possible if it has a flush draw on the flop. like who donkbets K high or QJ into the preflop raiser and another player on this flop w/o the flush draw? i think it's exceedingly rare, so there arent many of these hands to hope to fold. and of course the river betting hands are mostly going to be the pure bluffs (JT) and the value bets, not really K high or 54. so i dont think there are many better hands he plans on folding here.

Maybe you're joking, but I would'nt be surprised. That's basically what an 8 is doing.

Hmm, I don't like this spot because of the pot size and his river bet probably isn't a bluff, because he would think the ace helped you normally.

So he probably thinks it's a safe fold.

Well, the thing is, he probably doesn't think it's a safe bluff. I think he's less likely to be bluffing on the ace.
