Yes, it did occur to me that this thread would be yet another opportunity for 2+2'ers to be unnecessarily mean.

Why not give it a rest already?

Same reason Elaine made a big to do about leaving and a list of grievances? So people would read it?

Elaine,

I really think you would enjoy TQZ and I mean that in all seriousness.

Best wishes, I don't hate you many people I like have said you are a nice person in real life and I believe them. I just think OOT is better off without you then with you.

Goodbye Elaine V
Though I never knew you at all
You had the grace to hold yourself
While those around you crawled
They crawled out of the woodwork
And they whispered into your brain
They said that since you got married
You should have to change your name

And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing who to cling to
When the rain set in
And I would have liked to have known you
But I was just a kid
Your candle burned out long before
Your legend ever did

Loneliness was tough
The toughest role you ever played
"SSHE" created a superstar
And pain was the price you paid
Even when you were exiled
Oh the OOTers still hounded you
All the papers had to say
Was that Otis was a fool

And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never fading with the sunset
When the rain set in
And your footsteps will always fall here
Along 2+2's greenest hills
Your candle's burned out long before
Your legend ever will

Elaine,

As I said before, I didn't think you needed to be banned, though I do agree that you were at many times unnecessarily mean and inflammatory. Nonetheless, I would rather have more viewpoints than less on the forum.

Having said that, I think it's a good thing for you to have left the forums. It didn't seem like you enjoyed yourself in your discussions, and I don't understand why someone would participate someplace they didn't enjoy.

However, if you ever decide to give the forums another shot, consider this. I browse OOT multiple times most days and often have a couple of threads open on my desktop all day. However, I just clicked through each of your 20 links and I had only previously opened 3 of them. It is very easy to tell which threads are likely to be stupid, offensive, or just a general waste of time. So, I ignore them. This creates a 2+2 forum experience that is far more enjoyable to me than reading a bunch of posts that piss me off. Something to think about for everyone who does not like a lot of the stuff posted.

These are the things I like about OOT:
1. Too much porn and sex
2. Aggression, violence, and hostility towards each other, towards women, towards children, towards animals
3. Discussion of illegal activity including: underage drinking and gaming, tax evasion, theft, and more
4. Nuisance
5. Adult subject matter (without any warning or reference to that fact in the Terms of Service or during forum sign-up)

Eld - Haven't opened the links.

Were these recent examples.

Perhaps she had been avoiding most of those things also...but for her goodbye post she was going out of her way to find the examples of what she considers to be the T&C violations there.

elaine,

i enjoyed having you a part of OOT. i agree it is probably good for you to get away from the negativity, though. i don't really read or participate in OOT as much as i use to for pretty much the same reason.

I think it's funny that a lot of those examples weren't even posted in oot.

Another thing, I didn't have a problem with elaine before all this but I can certainly see why she was so disliked now. Someone who gets that upset that easily shouldn't be on the internet period, not just 2+2. She gets offended by a prank call site and thinks it's illegal? Gimme a break.
