Now I'm even more confused about Doom. On my copy of MM Food there are 22 tracks, including "Super." I think it's an "advanced" copy. But on All Music and other sources, MM Food only has 15 tracks, and does not include "Super," but it does have "Hoe Cakes" which is Super.

What gives?

[/ QUOTE ]

Is your copy a download or a bootleg or something? He did have an album of outtakes from the MmmFood album called Mmmleftovers.

Maybe it's the two combined? "Hoe Cakes" is the name of the song.

Hahahahaha.

Yes, you did indeed see Doom. I have that show's audio. Boulder, 1-31-06, right? Opening act was Hasaan Chop. He did a few songs and then Doom came out with the bandana, no mask. He made an announcement that the mask was MIA. You can tell the crowd is like, duhhhhhh, then he's like, "It's me Boulder family."

First song was indeed "Hoe Cakes" aka "Super." Seriously, people in the crowd went through the whole show and didn't know it was him???? How many tracks did he have to do? LMAO, that's too much.

I've got a pic somewhere of him that night. He had a baseball cap on backward with a camo bandana (semi see through) covering his eyes.

Awesome.

Thanks for clearing that up!

You've described the Boulder show perfectly. I thought it was Doom on stage (given that they were doing so many Doom songs that I knew). Still, people's comments, combined with Doom being a sneaky character, plus the full-on ninja dude, left me with some doubts.

Is the audio from that show good?

Yeah, I downloaded it before it hit the shelves. So maybe it is some weird version. The track is listed as "Super" on last.fm:

Pitchfork also has a review of that track:

I really like his sound, but I cant stand listening to his CD's because it seems like over half of the songs are those sample/skits things. i have MMfood and Madvillany BTW.

It's actually really good. I'd hook up a link but it seems the www.mfdoomsite.com is down right now. There's a link somewhere in there. If you check back when it's up, just search my name there and you should find it, if interested.

Doom is among my favorite hip hop artists.

Madvillainy
The mouse and the mask (being an adult swim fan helps a lot for this one)
Operation Ironman (with ghostface)

and his other albums are all very sweet.
