yes, but if the flop was 239 and the player shows a lot of strength, does phil make it showdown?

I think against this certain player he has to be willing to go broke here.

in that case (if Phil knows this about this player, wouldn't a preflop reraise have been better? it sounds like the player you are discussing would be willing to play for all his chips with many hands worse than QQ, no?

This player is obv. loose postflop, however, his small preflop reraise would set off alarm bells for me. If I have not seen him do this before, I would guess his range is something like JJ-AA, AK. If I've seen him do it with a lot of other hands, I don't mind a reraise, but if not, I would likely proceed with caution and just call preflop as a default.

Hey Phil, wassup!

On to the hand.

I'd say this is a good laydown most of the time and I would'nt worry to much about it.

As of playing back at him preflop, just keep in mind that if is 3-bet PF range is JJ plus and AK, your a way ahead or 6 combo (JJ'S), way behind 12 combos (AA's and KK'S), tying whit 1 combo (QQ) and a marginal favorit over the 16 combos (AK's).

So it's still prety close, even if you just happenned to run into JJ here. You might do it from time to time but I would'nt want to 4-bet that range OOP.

Had in TT and AQ to is PF 3-bet range and QQ become an auto 4 bet PF.

Bonne St-Jean!
