it seems like every time someone posts a hand where he called a raise with 9T from the button, people respond with "fold preflop."

This is wrong, reraise preflop.

Opening from the button, well it does depend on the blinds; generally though if I've just sat down I like any ace, any two cards 98 or higher, any suited K, any pair and suited/connectorish type hands. From CO, any suited ace, offsuit aces down to 9/8/7 maybe, any broadways, some suited kings and semi-decent suited connectors. And any pair.

Oh yeah, raising a limper from the button ~ like raising from the CO for me I guess. Maybe a bit looser.

To perhaps guide this a little more: how do you LAGs handle unsuited connectors? Maybe I could raise a limper or two OTB with JTo/78o type hands sometimes? Normally I fold almost all of my offsuit connectors unless I'm opening in late position.

Have you gotten your copy of NLHE: Theory and Practice yet? There is a good section about when to raise hands like Q9s.
