good catch. The turn ace definitely looks a little off-line.

Tell whoever it is to do a better job photo-shopping next time.

Actually, it's the middle Ac that is higher than the rest. Look at it from a side angle on your monitor. Or put a ruler up to it.

Also the popup canceling the tourney is a fake too. Doesn't look like Stars popups.

As I just spent an hour on my response to someone strangely mailing in with this today.... 2 + 2 is going to eat my formatting, but you get the idea.

[ QUOTE ]
Thank you for the screenshot. I've actually seen it before, it was on a
public URL last time. However, this screenshot is fake.

T# 14705493 was the $10 + $1 Deep Stacks tournament held on 12th November
2005. The top four players in this event were:

"gamblinfla"
"MiketheKid2"
"twiceasright"
"witzy2004"

The player "Big Devin" didn't take part in this tournament. You don't
just have to take my word for it, you will find confirmation on outside
databases which we do not have access to. For example, if you look at
http://thepokerdb.com/ for "Big Devin" or for that tournament, you'll be
able to confirm that he didn't take part in it. You'll also be able to
confirm that this tournament finished - there was no cancellation.

So not only would we have had to edit our own database, but we'd have had
to do it to several outside databases, sometimes of sites that we do not
approve of and ban the use of.

Next, you can see the observer "style12" in chat on the table. "style12"
is not a User ID on our database - he doesn't exist. You can confirm this
for yourself too. If you go to a computer that hasn't had a PokerStars
account created on it already and set one up, try entering the
ID "style12". It will work because it hasn't been used yet.

There are also two hands mentioned here. One is # 3044245011 and the
other # 3044243120. I've attached them both below to demonstrate the
large number of changes we'd have to make if we removed a player from an
event, and all record of the hand that took place. As you can see, the
chip stacks are totally consistent from one hand to the next. Further
more, "Big Devin" didn't take part. We would have had to change tens of
thousands of hands to change the event in this way (as a change to a
player on one table changes that of a player on another table due to table
moves).

Furthermore, we'd have had to changed hundreds of accounts regarding their
balance, their time played, their chat and so on and so forth. Then we'd
have had to changed the accounts of all the players that were on other
tables shared with players in this tournament in other events.

We are looking at literally millions of changes made to our database.
Would it be simpler to do that, or to fix a problem that surely would have
turned up dozens of times before on our site in the five billion hands
we've dealt?

Which explanation is more likely - that:

1. We've edited millions of entries in our database (surely an
extremely complicated task to ensure that the numbers are internally
consistent).

2. We've deleted a player entirely

3. We've gone in and edited the database of thepokerdb and all the
other tournament stat sites that are out there, including many that don't
like us very much

4. We are too lazy to fix a problem involving being dealt five aces,
but work hard enough to alter millions of database entries

5. That we care so little for the integrity of the site that we'd try
to do any of this

Or that the screenshot is fake?

This screenshot is seven months old, and yet there've been no lawsuits, no
reliable forum posts, no news stories, nothing. This is because the
screenshot has been photoshopped to look like we dealt five aces, when we
did infact not.

I hope that this sets your mind at ease, but if you have further queries,
please do not hesitate to let us know.

Best regards,

Andrew
