Re: Good hotels near The bellagio
Depending on the day of the week, the Bellagio poker rate may be competitive with some of these places. It really is that much nicer IMO. I'd stay there except maybe Fri/Sat night.

Re: Good hotels near The bellagio
Bellagio is offering a summer special with weekday rates for 109 and weekend rate of something like 139. might be a little pricy for what you are looking for, but I think it's well worth it to stay there during the WSOP.
I was going to stay at Caesars for the WSOP June 30 to July 4, but with teh deal the Bellagio was about $500 cheaper. The deal is part of some summer promotion they are having for mgm/mirage players club card holders, but i am not sure if you absolutely need the card. I do know that you don't need to be a high roller because the only time i used the card was last january to play a little 3-6 limit and video poker at the mgm(just for free drinks). Just call the hotel and ask for casino promotions to find out (ask for courtney because she is the most helpful person there). Deal runs through september but there are a few blackout dates. |

Re: Good hotels near The bellagio
I stayed at The Westin behind Bally's, it was a 4star got a priceline rate on a saturday for $80+tax=$100. The room was quite nice, and it was less than a 5 min walk to las vegas blvd. I highly recommend it.

[/ QUOTE ] That makes sense because the Mirage is running a summer special for weekday rates at $99/night. People have also been known to get the Venetian via Priceline for $99/night. Edit: Just did some checking and people have been getting the Venetian for $120-$130 lately and the Westin (mentioned in post above) for $80-$90/night. Good luck. Also, if you choose the priceline route, remember that you're locked in if your bid is accepted. A common strategy is to book a backup plan first and thencancel if you get a good deal through priceline. Also, for Vegas properties, you'll get better deals from Priceline the closer to your arrival date you bid. Enjoy. |

Re: Good hotels near The bellagio
you can't pick your actual hotel on priceline through right? You just say a range and any hotel can choose to let you stay there, and then you are stuck with that hotel right? how do you make sure you get a good hotel like the bellagio/mirage/venetian?

[/ QUOTE ] www.betterbidding.com would be one example of a website that is useful in crafting Priceline and Hotwire bids. Part of the wonder of Priceline and why you get a cheap rate is that you don't get to specify exact hotel or location, just quality (and you have to trust Priceline's judgement of hotel quality). You just say "5 stars on strip" and they pick it for you. But there are web sites out there where folks share what sorta Priceline deals they've gotten. So everybody knows if you say you want a 5-star hotel on the strip, you're gonna get Venetian, and if you check the web site you'll find out about how much you can bid to get it accepted. |
