Why is daniel N so condescending towards other pros

I like him a lot, and he seems to be a genuinely friendly and nice guy. I usually cheer for him to win tournaments and stuff.

However, he also appears to have a huge ego, or need for attention, or something.

HOWEVER, I don't view that trait as such a bad thing.

I like Danny. I really do. He quickly become my favorite player to watch on TV (his Freedy Deeb bluff hooked me). I love his charisma and when people say he's one of the nicest players on tour I have no trouble believing them.

But, um, Isn't he redoing Super System? Power poker with contributions from top professional friends?

IMO DN is one of the nicer big name players out there. Of course ill im going on is what i see on TV. Just b/c he talks trash to two of the biggest douches at the table (matisow and sheik) doesn't mean anything. I've yet to see why everyone says he has this tremendous ego.

You never bust your friends b***s while playing poker? Don't you play to have a good time? And why does it matter whether it's televised? Daniel was partly having a good time, partly trying to get a psychological edge, and that's what poker is all about.

Unless he thinks it will help him win. The object of this game we play is to win, and when you're playing for a lot of money, especially heads up, there is nothing wrong with doing this.

Since when is everyone that writes a book have a tremendous ego?

I had no idea he was writing a book but I'm guessing he realizes that we live in a free enterprise system where he can bank off his name for a decent profit. Same with Stacked and FCP.

I don't know about shieky, but MM and EN are both good friends with DN. As such, I am assuming that since he is a more accomplished player than both of them, they go to him for advice somewhat regularly. When people come to me for advice (or I go to someone for advice) on a regular basis, it usually ends up that I (or they) don't even wait to be asked as it is something that is assumed.
