Re: First Post, and a hand question
Jamie, I agree that you'd rather not be called by two higher face cards (though it's hardly a disaster). But he may also call with AJ, AT, A9 and down. Would that be a sufficient edge in $EV terms do you think?

Re: First Post, and a hand question
Maybe not a disaster, but very undesirable with two shorter stacks at the table. The reason I dont like getting called by AT etc, is that if you take it down pf you have 6800 chips with two stacks of 3500 to your left who should be very easy to steal from, i.e your in an ideal spot to get first or second. If you win the showdown, yes you have half the chips in play, but if you lose you get nothing. I don't know how to calculate these things, but I am sure it will be -EV to be called and be a 7:3 favourite.

Re: First Post, and a hand question
Guys, thanks for all the great advice. In response to embracing fold equity, I do feel I have a good grasp of it as a concept, and actually feel I may be pushing too much as we approach the bubble (i.e. pushing when the situation isnt warranted, etc)
Anyways, I pushed (calling wasnt an option since I could almost 100% guarantee that he pushes any flop due to his earlier play. Got called by his KK and bubbled, the end result didnt disturb me, just wanted confirmation as to whether this is a good a time as any to make a stand and play back against an aggressive opponent. Thanks again, good luck at the tables... JD |

Re: First Post, and a hand question
Yeh don't be concerned that he had KK here, you just got coolered. You won't be called most of the time, and most of the time you'll be ahead when called anyway.
