This is actually my only real concern for this tattoo. I don't like the idea of having to explain it to really clueless people.

Well there are other reasons for getting it, but any statement I'm trying to make to other people is pretty well covered by your three reasons above.

Other reasons for getting this tattoo are that I think that it will look cool, some people will find it very clever and it's an idea that I think I will enjoy for a very long time. Basically, I've had lots of ideas for tattoos, but none that I think will hold up over time.
