Who said $225? It's $255. $5-10 blinds plus the raise to $120 and call.

[/ QUOTE ]

plus 350 from bet of 175?

yea if you're gonna raise preflop you have to really raise the pot or thereabouts, to about 170

"i bet out 175 if he calls or raises im done unless i set" seems to be the common response.

Turn is the 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] making your set, but also making the flush or flush draw present.

Pot = $255 Villan bets out $100.

Your move....

Nope, this was a pro's hand i was watching. Didn't look as though he played it right to me either, but let's keep going with it.

Folds to Hero: Your on btn w/ 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] You raise to $120 hoping to take down here or make continuation bet on flop and take down.

So why didnt you cbet the flop. If you're not gonna cbet the flop just flat call preflop.

Pot is 5(sb) + 10(bb) + 50(10 to call + 40 raise) = 65
65(pot) + 50(with the call would be) = 115
Pot sized raise would be 50 + 115 = 165 to go

Maybe I'm wrong, but the line I'd prefer PF with these stacks, 77 and the button here is flat calling. Letting him keep the lead, raising a flop like this and going from there I think makes the hand easier to play.

Taking the lead PF with 77 makes you vulnerable to being outplayed easily on a lot of boards with a flop c/r.

alright, i'm with everyone else who thinks the play so far sucks. but for some actual thought about the turn action as it stands:

because the stacks are still relatively deep compared to the pot, raising the turn is a pretty bad idea. calling and hoping to fill up is a good plan, but I think that we don't need to fill up to call a river bet, or make a value bet if checked to. The only rivers i'm folding to a bet are non-pairing [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]s and a big bet.
