Re: Is this flop a fold? JJ with no overs, no flush, and remote strai
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Could you please explain you logic behind saying calling is close preflop? [/ QUOTE ] JJ doesnt have a huge equity edge in an 8 handed pot. Sklansky mentions this exact situation in HPFAP(I cant find the page number) Basically you are hoping to flop a set. [/ QUOTE ] The more appropriate reference for this hand would be the "Two Overpair Hands" section in SSHE. |

Re: Is this flop a fold? JJ with no overs, no flush, and remote straight
As for me, I can't think of a circumstance where I would call in the cut-off with pocket jacks.
Do you have the jack of diamonds? I can't see folding here is you do, and I really can't see folding if you don't, but I'm willing to listen to the latter case. |

O RLY? This forum should really be split into live and online, not high and medium stakes. -Michael |

Re: Is this flop a fold? JJ with no overs, no flush, and remote straight
If you have JcJh against AsTs and QdKd and Tc9c and the flop is 8d6d5s the odds are:
AsTs: 11.71%, Tie 0.61% KdQd: 52.80% JcJh: 25.00% Tc9c: 9.88%, Tie 0.61% But if you get them all to fold except for the QdKd you have 44.04% chance to win and 1.82% chance on a tie. So that is good a reason to keep raiseing. (except for the fact that you are giving the others pot-odds, but they don't have pot-odds and they should fold) |
