tom is a complete retard when he is tilting.

and i think he has a v. weak draw/air alot more than u gave him credit for, which is why i like a call/chk call any river better than 3 betting the turn. and folding is out of the question here.

pretty funny tom/brad booth story i heard:

action is a tad fuzzy, but tom is tilting some, sitting with 35k in the 8 seat, booth is in the 6th seat and covers. bellagio 10-20 btw.

booth raises and blinds call, tom is bb.

flop is like 765r and it goes chk tom bets, booth calls, fold.

turn is 7x tom bets again and booth calls.

river is 5x, tom chks, brad bets like 800 and tom shoves 35k.

booth tanks forever and calls showing 76. tom shows J7 before mucking.

hey john, i saw your post in the "crazy fold" thread, thought i'd look at some of your past posts, and came across this. surprised that it never received any feedback, as i find it pretty interesting. anyway, i know the tom that you're referring to, and i've played many many hours with him. unless he played very differently a year ago from how he plays now, i think you're almost always looking at a set here. yes, he's capable of occasional moves, but if he does it's usually preflop or on the flop, very rarely on later streets. he doesn't have 2pr, cuz he's not playing any possible 2pr other than T8s (and if he decided to play some junk like 85s or 53s in ep he'd have come in for a raise himself), and if he has a combo draw he might've raised a bet on the flop but i think it unlikely on the turn.

i advise a fold but in reality i never fold top2 on a no-flush, no-straight board, so i'd probly call the turn raise and re-eval the river. if tom pots the river again i def fold.

haha, mike, funny you did this, but i too looked at JTL's posts to see what he had been up to. really shocked i missed this, must've been on my sojourn when this was posted?

thanks man =) ive played with you before, by the way. almost 2years ago when I went to foxwoods. I think, atleast! I'm "rob."

as to your hand, it's somewhat hard to put him on a semibluff on the turn. seems to me more airish or 33, no? id call the turn.
