Re: Live 5/10NL - 2black aces, hero covers villian.

[ QUOTE ] Ok, so I grab a sleeve of greens ($500) and I bet the turn. Villian calls. Thoughts? [/ QUOTE ] Sweet! [/ QUOTE ] That's what I thought until a Q comes on the river and he pushes the rest of his stack (like $450). I called knowing he had AK but finding out he had K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] |

Tough to make that river fold with those pot odds... Raise more on the flop, and this wouldn't have happened. |

Re: Live 5/10NL - 2black aces, hero covers villian.
It was more of a tilt call than anything.
Ok, so let's get back to flop. Both you and Mason (actually Mason might have been talking about the turn) said smooth calling flop was an option. That was my biggest decision. I run into this often when I hit my sets on the flop. What to do when there is 2 to the flush and or a straight/draw out there. As far as the turn, I don't think I lose him - when he hit his jack - no matter what I did. |

[/ QUOTE ] Smooth calling is an option, but I usually take the more aggressive route, especially on a very draw heavy/action board like this, where I can represent a big draw. On this particular board, he basically either has a hand, and he's willing to go with it, or he has a draw. In both of these scenarios, going for his stack is what you should be doing. He MIGHT be on a bluff, or a weak hand that he's willing to lay down, but he's not too likely to put much more in the pot, anyway, in these cases. You say you have a LAG image. Capitalize.
