makes sense to me. They can't afford to have people deposit and withdraw and be stuck with the neteller costs without at least some action. [/ QUOTE ] yep, it's even spelled out for you when you deposit. |

I think this is a pretty bad policy.
What are their terms for 'rolling it over' one time in the poker-room anyway? I don't think that earning $500 worth of rake-back is their standard, is it? |

I had the same situation...after i was turned down, i called them up, they said i had only played 1/2 as much poker as i needed to, so i would be charged. About a month had passed by since my attempted withdrawl by this point, my money gets forgotten about regularly, and i I decided to withdraw, pay their stupid fine and they wont get my football betting business come fall, no biggie.
So the second time i tried to take the money out, it went through, no charge, no problem. I don't know what the lesson is from this. |

While I don't really agree with the policy, since it is spelled out, I'll deal with it. I might just try to jump into the 10/20 and roll it over there. The game didn't look all that great...but there is no rake so I I'll probably have at least some EV.

But what are the requirements for 'rolling it over'?
Is it just to bet $500 worth towards pots? If that's what it is then obviously it wouldn't take long to do this. |

[/ QUOTE ] I agree with the bad policy bit. I understand why they do it, but I thought that the whole rake-free thing was an experiment. This could hurt them as far as trying to get that all-important critical mass of players. I know that, considering the transaction fees, they're losing money on poker right now. One question I have though: Does it really cost the poker site $14 in transaction fees for a $500 transfer in and a $500 transfer out? |

Personally, I don't even understand why they would do this.
If people are afraid of depositing in the first place on the off-chance that they might not want to play there then that can hurt the possibility of attracting new players. Let them deposit freely..and hope that they give the games a try. Hasseling your customers about such things is NOT the way to win them over. It's very possible you would have returned to the site if you had no cash-out issues. Instead, you'll be reluctant to go back there. And you came to this forum to warn others about this policy which is really bad publicity for them. The minimal amount that they gain by FORCING you to play (helping them start-up games...because they don't even get any profits from your poker play) is significantly out-weighed by the fact that you might not return and may have prevented others from trying it out. |
